A Day Off

I woke up this morning, Mother's Day, to find two little girls excited for me to get up. They had been out with Tim getting donuts from the best donut shop around, before I had even woke up! I'll have to overlook the fact my kids were out in their jammies in public, with bedhead hair and mismatched shoes and socks. It was worth the amazing donuts they brought home for breakfast on mom's day!

After church, Tim cooked up a delicious Mother's Day dinner with grilled steaks, twice-baked potatoes, corn, broccoli, biscuits, and cheese cake for dessert. We all had enough to eat for two meals. I really enjoyed a relaxing day with my little family and lots of great food! I am so thankful for the blessing of being a mother to my beautiful daughters!

First Guests

This past weekend we had our first overnight guests to our newly finished basement. Our dear friends Jason and Judy, from New Jersey, were in the area Sunday night so we invited them to stay the night, with their 4 kids, Maeghan, Mytchell, Morgan and Mason. It was great to see them and catch up with what's going on in their lives.

Recently, we converted a regular cinder block unfinished basement into a comfortable family room, kitchenette, and full bathroom. It turned out great, thanks to our friends who did the work for us.

We were happy our overnight guests could have plenty of room in the basement to spread out and make themselves at home. We hope that we can soon upgrade the air mattress to a more comfortable bed! We look forward to having other friends and family visit us over the summer, and hopefully feel comfortable to stay for as long as they like!

Jason and Judy, we love to have you visit, and you're always welcome in our home!

12 Years!

Tim and I have reached a new milestone, our 12th wedding anniversary. It's exciting to look back at all the blessing and see how God has lead us throughout our relationship. 12 years ago I would not have been able to see us with two kids, a cat, a minivan, and more blessings than I can count! I am so thankful for our marriage and all God has provided to us.

To celebrate our anniversary, we dined out at two local fine dining establishments, in the same evening! We first had a wonderful dinner at The Log Cabin Restaurant. We went all out, appetizers, salads, drinks, and delicious steak and chicken dinners. After dinner, we strolled around the restaurant and outside, admiring their collection of artwork. From there we left via the covered bridge and drove through the countryside to Haydn Zugs for dessert and coffee. Even though we were thoroughly stuffed from dinner, we managed to find room for cheesecake and chocolate peanut butter cake. We loved both restaurants and plan to go back for other special occasions.
